Blog for Sunday 3rd February 2019

Yikes! I keep wanting to type ‘January’ instead of ‘February’. Yep, the month of January came and went at such speed that I cannot believe it is already over, done and dusted!

I crept out of bed at four o’clock and was into my early morning rhythm quickly - feed the cat, get something to drink and then up to my studio to enjoy my Quiet Time.

We were going into church with Noel and Sandra this morning but an early message to Ken from Myles (who lives up the road from us) warned us that one of our cows was on the Highway again. So that was the end of the idea of going to church with Noe and Sandra!

It was that darn JAB1501, she reckons gates and fences are from leaping over with gay abandon! Ken shot out there on the quad bike to give said cow a piece of his mind plus, but nary sight nor sound was there of her! Someone else had kindly put her back on the correct side of the fence, as Ken saw the gate had been latched differently to the way he does it. So a big “Thank you!” to whoever did that for us.

Now, we were running late and had to get a serious wiggle on if we were to get to church. We did.

We arrived about four minutes late in the end and the congregation had only just begun to sing, so we had done well.

Today in church I was on duty with Karen in Sunday School, and it was fun working with the children again. Thye have only jsut retunred to school again and it was gtreat to see them all again.

Ken and I stopped on our way home for me to run into the top IGA to grab a few groceries. I will do our ‘big shop’ this coming Thursday, because we will be in Port Macquarie as Ken has another dentist appointment, plus I have a Church Board meeting in the early evening there too.

Once home I lay down and had a snap snooze. Well there was no snap about it really, as I slept for twenty minutes!  Ken was watching TV and waited until I had slept before having his siesta. Koda was delighted as he had slept with me, and was able to s-t-r-e-t-c-h his snooze out even longer as he remained on the bed with Ken! The lazy hairy hound!

This afternoon I decided to really take time out and relax. So, I read then did some smocking on the little dress for Holly, read some more, organised supper and watched a little bit of TV before crashing onto our bed again.

Yes, I was feeling a little “naar” (an Afrikaans word for “off colour”). I cannot say what or how ... I just felt blah. So, the rest today was wonderful.

What lesson did I learn today? How much I enjoy working with children.

What am I grateful for today? The link Karen sent to me for today’s sermon, as it was uploaded  early. (We miss the sermon as we are out with the children in Sunday School at that time.)

My saying for today is …
